Mary Njoki CEO Stawi Global
Having walked the path of caregiving firsthand, facing its trials without the necessary tools or resources, I recognized a pressing need for change. With the world’s population swelling and aging, the demand for care is skyrocketing. By 2030, an estimated 2.3 billion individuals will require care, driven by an aging populace and a burgeoning youth demographic. It’s evident: innovative solutions are imperative, both in policy and service provision, as well as in the terms and conditions of caregiving labor. Thus, I seized the opportunity to effect social change through my entrepreneurial spirit, birthing Stawi Global – a haven where caregivers flourish through wellness.
Firmly believing in the power of creativity to bridge divides, I see enrollment in this program as a catalyst for propelling Stawi Global to greater heights. With UPG’s support, my entrepreneurial aspirations will be realized, enabling me to expand our impact and fill critical gaps in our services. Joining UPG’s Biashara Entrepreneurs promises to fortify and grow Stawi Global’s reach.
On a personal note, my journey from engineering to entrepreneurship and into the realm of psychology has been transformative. Through addressing the silent pandemic of mental health illnesses, I’ve discovered my true passion and purpose. Despite setbacks, including the exit from a startup I co-founded, I’ve persevered, emerging stronger to establish Stawi Global – a testament to resilience and the power of unwavering determination.
